Abstract
We have developed a computerised plethysmograph system for the measurement of airways resistance, lung volumes and flow volume loops. Conventional techniques for determining airways resistance and lung volumes give results which have large intra-subject variability. In developing this system, therefore, our aims have been to develop algorithms which give objective and reproducible measurements of airways resistance and lung volumes.
