If the lower endpoint of the support of F is positive, that is, tF >0, then our condition (13.11) for the weak approximation in Theorem 13.5 is trivially satisfied. Indeed, \(\mathop {\lim }\limits_{u \to 0} Q(u) = {t_F} = \mathop {\lim }\limits_{u \to 0} Q(u/\lambda )\) for each λ> 1, and therefore condition (13.11) takes the form
