Abstract

Qualification of components and/or subsystems is a process that many overlook, or just don’t put enough thought into. Component qualification, vendor selection, is just the tip of the problem, where like the iceberg, 90% of the problems lie out of sight beneath the surface of the water. Building quality products means qualification of vendors who will deliver products with consistent quality, and who, if a problem should occur, will put resources in place in a timely fashion to resolve the problem to everyone’s satisfaction.
