Strategies for the Genetic Analysis of Autosomal Recessive Retinitis Pigmentosa in Spanish Families

  • Chapter
Degenerative Retinal Diseases

Abstract

Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a group of inherited eye disorders that affect photoreceptor and pigment epithelial function. Prominent clinical features include night blindness and constriction of visual fields, generally leading to complete blindness (1). It affects about 1 in 4000 people (2).
