Abstract

On account of the high proliferation rates specific to testicular tissue, the production of male germ cells is an important indicator of ecological or anthropogenic factors affecting animal reproduction. Two methods were employed for quantifying the proliferation of post mortem collected testes in cattle and roe deer; furthermore we developed a new method for differentiating between the proliferation of somatic and spermatogenic cells.
