Abstract
When seeing young people in punk outfit in the streets, one is likely to wonder about certain issues. For instance, what precisely is the message that these people wish to convey through their conspicuous clothing and behaviour? Do they want to scare, irritate, attract attention, charm, express rebellion, criticize the society, or just emphasize their difference from other people? How do other people receive this ′communication by outfit′? And are punks disposed to aggression and social behavior? These were some of the questions we wanted to get answers to in the present investigation.
