Abstract
At the Chemistry Institute of Araraquara our group has been working on the preparation and characterization of lanthanide ions containing luminescent materials. By spectroscopy (x-rays, UV-Vis, IR) and diffraction (x-rays and electrons) techniques we have been studying different classes of materials, ranging from amorphous (fluoride and oxide glasses, colloidal suspensions) to crystalline (fluoride and oxide ceramics and glass ceramics) systems.
