Abstract

A recently developed discrete shell model1,2 for cross-relaxation and energy-transfer processes in hexachloroelpasolites Cs2NaLn x Gd1-x Cl6 (Ln = rare-earth ion, x = 0.001,…,1) is introduced. After deciding the energy-transfer mechanism, luminescent decay curves can be calculated for all concentrations and compared with experimental data. The radial and angular dependencies of the energy-transfer Hamiltonian have been considered with respect to the fcc lattice.
