Abstract

With the sampled transform techniques presented in Chapter 5, we can compute the transfer functions for Figure 5.1, which is reproduced for convenience in Figure 6.1. In this phase-locked loop, the analog mixer has been replaced with a phase detector having a sampler with a zero order hold. Recall the sampling phase detector may be for implementation convenience, or it may be necessary to process sampled signals. (As an example, a radar pulse might have a duration of only nanoseconds.)
