Abstract

Petri nets possess many assets as models for discrete event systems. Concurrent processes and events can be easily modeled within the framework. They provide for larger reachable state spaces, more compact representation, and increased behavioral complexity compared to automata based models. The goal of this book has been to present an approach to Petri net supervisory control that is unified and tractable as well as comprehensive and practical.
