Abstract
This Twente-Second International Symposium on Blood Transfusion has concentrated on alternative approaches to blood transfusion. That is really quite remarkable — a symposium on blood transfusion, organised and run by experts on blood transfusion is discussing alternatives to that very discipline. Perhaps remarkable, but a sign of intellectual health and vitality.
