Factors Governing University Effects

Part of the Economics of Science, Technology and Innovation book series (ESTI, volume 13)


The results of the analyses in the previous three chapters provided strong evidence of local university effects: state and MSA level regression studies indicated that similar clustering tendencies of innovations and university research on the one hand and industrial R&D and university research on the other are signs of local university knowledge transfers and university effects on the employment at high technology research laboratories, respectively.
