Abstract
It was emphasized in chapter 2 that the consensus in the literature is that via technology transfers, universities exerted a significant impact on local economies in the well-known high technology concentrations. The main focus in this book is to study whether this experience of the major high technology centers such as Silicon Valley, Route 128, or the Cambridge Phenomenon is generalizable and applicable to other regions.
