Abstract

In late 1995 the physics programme at the LEP accelerator at CERN entered a new era with the first collisions at energies substantially above the Z0 resonance. In 1996 LEP provided the first data sets at and above the W pair production threshold. These runs were used by the DELPHI collaboration to extend the searches for new particles beyond the sensitive region of LEP1.
