Colloidal Stability in Complex Fluids

  • Chapter
Ceramic Microstructures

Abstract

Colloidal stability in complex fluids has been studied with emphasis on depletion effects arising from the presence of nonadsorbed polymeric species. The purpose of this review is to present the various contributions to the interparticle potential in complex colloidal systems, and highlight their importance through experimental observations of structure- property (rheological) relations in such systems.
