Abstract
Bulk CdS x Se1-x alloy crystallizes in the hexagonal structure in the whole composition range (0≤x≤1.0). The lowest-band-gap energy of CdS x Se1-x can be tuned from ∼1.7 eV (CdSe) to ∼2.5 eV (CdS). Although the optical properties of CdSe and CdS have been well established, little is known about their alloy.
