Abstract
As mentioned earlier, PLI1.0 provides two different sets of library functions. We have discussed the first of them, the utility routines, in Chapter 3. In this chapter, we will take up the access routines. While utility routines limit themselves in reading/modifying the parameters of the user-defined task or function, access routines expand these capabilities to a wide range of design objects. Access routines also introduce a new powerful data type called handle. We will start with the basics of access routines. Later, different classifications of these routines will be discussed.
