Abstract

In this chapter an efficient adaptive buffering scheme is described which takes a priori information representing variation in input video into consideration. The a priori information is given by a set of scene change features. This scheme is based on a feed-forward control technique to handle the non-stationary nature of video. The scene change features are selected and applied to the adaptation of the quantisation scale.
