Part of the book series: Outreach Scholarship ((OUTR,volume 1))

Abstract

This chapter outlines a journey—a journey involving one faculty member, five state agency professionals, and many local collaborators on a quest to help working families care for their children; a journey that has spanned 14 years, two states, and affected the lives of children, parents, and child care professionals in 261 counties; a journey that has changed the culture of state agencies, two land-grant universities, and local communities; a journey that is not yet over.
