Abstract
Punctuation symbols serve as guideposts in written material much like inflection and phrasing in speech About 60% of all punctuation symbols are commas and periods, Considering their prevalence. it is unfortunate that they look so similar Their small size prevents type designers from doing much to distinguish them, When an OCR system omits or confuses these symbols. it produces text that is disconcerting to read.
