The Influence of Accelerated Partial Discharges Tests on the Effects on Epoxy Composite Surface in SF6

  • Chapter
Gaseous Dielectrics VIII

Abstract

As it is well known, the surface strength of insulators plays an essential role in the reliability of insulating systems with SF6. Partial discharges (PD) decides to a great degree on initiation of slowly developing defects which impair the electric surface strength. Checking the possibilities of selecting parameters of accelerated ageing in surfaces of epoxy composites in gaseous SF6 medium at ac voltages was the goal of the measurements mentioned above.
