Abstract
The term atrioventricular block refers to slowing of conduction or loss of conduction between the atria and the ventricles. Atrioventricular (AV) block may be congenital or acquired, partial or complete, transitory or permanent, and completely asymptomatic or associated with symptoms ranging from near syncope to frank hemodynamic collapse.
