Abstract
As the organizers of this conference have correctly recognized, we are indeed in the midst of a “worldwide revolution in longevity” as a result of demographic and health trends in every region. Many aspects and implications of this revolution have not yet received the attention they deserve from policy makers, including issues related to the health and human rights of older women.
