Summary
This chapter examines two recent initiatives to boost export activity. In both cases, these represent a major departure from existing support methods and consequently reflect some dissatisfaction with these. The initiatives have a heavy educational component to them. These are not traditional educational programs, however, but involve “learning by doing”. Although these initiatives are sufficiently new to rule out any definitive evaluation, the early results are promising and suggest others might think along similar lines.
