Abstract
Four new iron chloride doped conducting polymers/copolymers of pyrrole and thiophene have been prepared by electrochemical method. The Mossbauer studies of these samples reveal the presence of iron both in +2 and +3 oxidation states. Two of the samples, viz., iron chloride doped poly (pyrrole+phenylene oxide) and poly (thiophene + 3,methyl thiophene), are the first examples of conducting polymers showing magnetic ordering at room temperature.
