Abstract
Superconductivity has many attributes that make it useful in the development of devices and components for signal processing applications. This chapter discusses these attributes with several examples presented to illustrate the use of superconductive components for wideband signal processing. The chapter is organized into four sections. The first section provides a brief overview of generic signal processing as accomplished by linear filters. The following three sections illustrate the use of superconductivity to construct three different types of such filters. All structures described have been developed with a view toward analog signal processing of signals with multigigahertz bandwidths.
