Abstract

Numerous investigations have indicated that WR-2721 is the most efficient radioprotector of those investigated so far (1,2). Yuhas et al., (3) described some of the basic pharmacology of this compound in the mouse and concluded that hypoxia is the essential mechanism of the radioprotective action of WR-2721. However, its pharmacological effects, as well as the mechanism of the radioprotective action have not been completely established yet.
