The Assessment and Use of Adjuvants

  • Chapter
Vaccines

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSA,volume 215))

Abstract

In 1988 at the previous NATO ASI a number of procedures were proposed for the assessment of adjuvants (Stewart-Tull, 1989). Insufficient time has elapsed to allow a detailed experimental appraisal of the recommendations but researchers have questioned some of the tests. In addition, vaccinologists interested in the practical uses of adjuvants must face the problems of the proposed phasing out of mineral oils.
