Abstract

The hot big bang model of Cosmology is generally accepted as providing a correct description of the evolution of the universe. It naturally accounts for the isotropic cosmic microwave black-body background 3°K radiation. Moreover it gives a good quantitative estimate of the amounts of light elements such as helium and deuterium synthesized several seconds after the expansion started.
