Abstract

S. L. was a 5-lb 10-oz product of a full-term gestation born to a gravida III, para II mother. The pregnancy was essentially uncomplicated, although Mrs. L. noted that fetal movements were weaker than expected. Labor and delivery were similarly uncomplicated and the Apgar scores were 7 and 9. The infant was noted to have congenital anomalies shortly after birth. The obvious anomalies included microcephaly, a high-arch palate, polydactyly of the left hand, rocker bottom feet, hemangiomas of the forehead and scalp, a heart murmur, and hypoplastic pinnae. Other minor congenital anomalies were also noted.
