Abstract

In many situations it is important to be able to determine the amount of water that will run off an area. You may need to know the size of a drainage outlet needed for a parking lot or the size of a waterway needed to drain terraces, or to determine the rate of flow through the spillway of a farm pond. In this chapter we will discuss one method that can be used to calculate the rate of runoff.
