Abstract
There have not been many success stories to date in the design and implementation of CAD databases, let alone CAD Frameworks, although hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent trying to achieve this goal. We believe that there are important reasons why this is so and that the reasons have very little to do with what the designers are trying to build and are almost entirely concerned with the approach they take to the design and implementation of the system.
