Complex Cardiac Surgery

  • Chapter

Abstract

During the past several decades. impressive progress has been made in cardiovascular surgery. Correction of most lesions and anomalies has become routine. Some of the more complex problems, however, still challenge the surgeon. In some instances, procedures that were once routine, such as coronary artery bypass, have become more complex. In the case of coronary bypass, this change occurred as surgeons began to search for better bypass conduits. This report describes a few of these complex problems.
