Abstract

The incidence of human prostatic cancer in Japan has been increasing. Clinical trials have been aimed at the development of the most effective methods of management of this malignant disease. The need for the most appropriate preclinical models of human prostatic neoplasia is apparent. Experimental studies on the available models of animal prostatic carcinoma are highly useful in providing us with a better understanding of the biology of prostatic malignancy.
