Abstract

This paper presents a short overview of the effect of long-range ordering on the magnetic and electronic properties of fcc Ni-Pt and Co-Pt and of bcc Fe-Al. The first part is a summary of experimental data. The second part is devoted to their discussion in the frame either of purely statistical models developed to simulate the phase diagrams, or of models which take into account both electronic structure considerations and results of statistical calculations.
