Abstract

Ultrasonic imaging using correlation technique overcomes the problem of conventional pulse echo system by transmitting a continuous pseudorandom signal and then compressing it into a short high resolution pulse at the receiver. The total Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) is improved by band compression and allows one to retrieve echo signals buried in the receiver noise.
