Part of the book series: Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology ((AEMB,volume 311))

Abstract

The caged calcium compound nitr-5 was used to investigate the effects of a rapid increase in intracellular calcium concentration on the L-type calcium current (ICa) of guinea pig ventricular cells. Short term inactivation and longer lasting potentiation were observed.
