Abstract
The A7r5 smooth muscle cell line, which was originally derived from rat aorta, was studied. These cells show a spontaneous electrical activity. Resting membrane potential was about -45mV. The cells displayed spontaneous overshooting acting potentials at a frequency of 0.1 to 0.5 Hz.
