Abstract

Alterations in the reactivity of blood vessels to neurotransmitters and circulating hormones have been suggested to cause or contribute to some of cardiovascular complications, such as hypertension, that are associated with diabetes mellitus. On the other hand, macrovascular disease is a significant cause of morbitidity and mortality in diabetic patients.
