Abstract
The list of molecules able to induce angiogenesis is heterogeneous in chemical characteristics and biological. propertiesl,2,3,4 Despite this heterogeneity, it is possible that all have in common the capacity to influence some of the events indispensable for the induction of neovascularization. Stimulation or repression of the angiogenic response may depend on changes in total concentration and relative ratios of modulating molecules normally present in the organism. As an approach to identify them we analyzed changes in tissue composition that occur in the rabbit cornea undergoing angiogenic stimulation.
