Abstract
Mean field theory is used to define a continuous spin occupancy parameter between the polarized and non-polarized states in the electron gas jellium model. Using an independent particle approximation, the appearance of the charge density wave is discussed as a function of the spin occupancy, temperature and density system. It is found that the introduction of the spin occupancy parameter is equivalent to a scaling in the electronic distance of the system.
