Abstract
In this paper, arguments are presented for various inertial confinement fusion laser systems (electrical driven laser, ion-generated by fusion reactions — driven laser, and ion-generated by fission reactions-driven laser) which show that high plant efficiencies can be achieved with low efficiency fission-generated-ion driven lasers 0.5%. It is the unique properties of the fission-generated-ion driven system which provides it a distinct advantage over the electrical driven system and the fusion-generated-ion driven system.
