Abstract

Interferometric methods, as well as general information on instruments currently used to measure thermal expansion, were dealt with in Chapter 18 of the first volume of this Compendium. The present chapter describes in more detail interferometric instruments, data acquisition and treatment, and finally analyzes the errors typical of this method.
