Abstract

The pathogenesis of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) disease is still obscure and a central question is related to the mechanisms responsible for CD4 depletion. Two major groups of causes should be considered: those which are virus mediated and others which may be due to immune mechanisms.
