Abstract
The inverse scatterring imaging has a background of wide application in medicine, nondestructive testing, seismic imaging, etc. The iterative inverse algorithm, with the moment method to discretize the integral equations, was developed by S. A. Johnson and others in [1—3]. In our work of numerical simulation, we find that this kind of algorithm possesses three attractive characteristics s it has less limitation to the acoustic velocity of the imaging area, less sensitivity to the data of limited angle and it is capable of inversing the velocity and attenuation simultaneously. The shortcomings of this method are that the computational requirement increase rapidly with the increase of the number of grid cells, and the stability become worse as well. Therefore, it is valuable to decrease the computational requirement and to improve its stability. In this paper we have done some work on this subject and achieved relatively satisfactory results.
