Abstract
There was unanimous agreement of two different types of Dendritic Cells: the Follicular Dendritic Cells, and the Dendritic Cells, which comprise different phenotypes such as Langerhans Cells and Interdigitating Cells. Although this nomenclature suggest a different location of the same cells, there was no consensus of new names to discriminate both cell types. The confusion could best be minimized by excluding the Follicular Dendritic Cells from the Dendritic Cell System. The classical names should therefore be defined, and the cardinal features updated.
