Abstract

In 1983, Naiem et al., produced a murine monoclonal antibody recognizing tonsillar follicular dendritic cells (FDC). This anti-DRC1 appeared highly selective for human FDC. It has proved of great value in the analysis of the distribution of FDC in reactive lymphoid tissues, in follicular lymphomas and in other diseases, namely in AIDS. Anti-DRC1 (M 706, Dakopatts) strongly reacts with the FDC extensions in mantle zones (Naiem et al. 1983). However it also reacts, though much lesser with splenic marginal zone B cells and with some mantle B lymphocytes.
