Abstract

The immunomodulatory role of TNF-α on the humoral response is complex: in vitro, TNF-α can enhance the proliferation of activated B lymphocytes and, in certain conditions, the Ig production. In vivo, it probably acts on the differenciation and growth of B lymphocytes (Kehrl el al., 1987).
