Modifying a DTD for HyTime

  • Chapter
Making Hypermedia Work

Abstract

HyTime’s use of architectural forms and of SGML’s intrinsic ID/IDREF pointing mechanism make it possible to convert many existing SGML hyperdocuments to use HyTime syntax easily. In some cases the hyperdocuments themselves need not change at all because modifications to the DTD will suffice to add the appropriate HyTime attribute values to the existing elements in the document
