Abstract

Dietary moderation plays an important role in reducing the risk of recurrent calcium oxalate stone disease. Most emphasis has been placed on managing hypercalciuria by limiting dietary calcium, sodium and protein but xanthine derivatives, such as caffeine and theophylline may play a significant role in some patients.
